Entity Entry Settings
Purpose
Entity Entry Settings control how callers select or enter a share/ loan (entity) when performing Teller transactions such as balance inquiries, transfers, or payments.
These options determine whether callers type an entity id, choose from a spoken list, or are guided through product categories first.
Configurations Supported
- Allow callers to manually enter an entity id
- Allow callers to choose from a spoken list of available entities
- Force manual entry instead of offering a list
- Show a product class menu (for example Checking, Savings, Loan) before listing entities
- Allow partial entity id entry for long IDs
- Suppress extra messaging when only one entity is available
- Control whether “0” is accepted as a valid entity
Use Case
Most deployments use:
- Caller entry with the option to hear a list.
- A product class menu before listing specific entities.
- Partial entry enabled when the core system uses long entity id's.
This approach balances speed for experienced callers with guidance for less frequent users.
Field Reference
Type: Dropdown/String
Purpose: Determines how callers provide the entity when performing Teller transactions.
Behavior: Teller prompts the caller according to the selected entry method:
- Caller entry with option for a list: Caller may manually enter the entity ID or request to hear a list of available entities.
- Play list of available entities: Teller automatically plays the list of available entities without offering manual entry.
- Force caller entry in all situations: Caller must manually enter the entity ID; no list is offered.
Caller Impact: Caller experience varies between manual entry, guided list selection, or a combination of both depending on the selected option.
Default Value: Caller entry with option for a list
Type: Dropdown/String
Purpose: Defines how entities are presented when the caller chooses to hear a list.
Behavior: Teller presents entity options according to the selected format:
- Present all available entities in list format: Teller reads all eligible entities directly.
- Provide a preliminary class menu: Teller first prompts the caller to select a product class (e.g., Checking, Savings, Loan) and then plays the entities within that class.
Caller Impact: Caller may hear a full list immediately or be guided through product categories before hearing specific entities.
Default Value: Provide a preliminary class menu
Type: Toggle/Boolean
Purpose: Controls whether Teller announces that only one eligible entity is available for the selected function.
Behavior: When enabled, Teller omits the message indicating that only one entity is available and proceeds directly with that entity. When disabled, Teller informs the caller that only one entity is available before continuing.
Caller Impact: Caller either hears confirmation that only one entity is available or is automatically advanced without that announcement.
Default Value: Disabled
Type: Toggle/Boolean
Purpose: Determines whether callers can identify an entity using a partial entity id.
Behavior: When enabled, Teller allows callers to enter a configured number of leading digits of the entity ID for identification. When disabled, callers must enter the full entity ID.
Caller Impact: Caller may enter shortened entity id's when permitted, reducing input effort for long entity IDs.
Default Value: Disabled
Type: Toggle
Purpose: Controls whether a product class menu is presented before entity selection.
Behavior: When enabled, Teller presents a dynamic menu of product classes (e.g., Checking, Savings, Loan) before prompting for entity entry or playing a list. When disabled, Teller proceeds directly to entity entry or listing without presenting product classes first.
Caller Impact: Caller may be guided through product categories before selecting a specific entity, improving clarity in multi-product environments.
Default Value: Disabled
Type: Toggle/Boolean
Purpose: Determines whether an entity ID with a value of “0” is considered valid.
Behavior: When enabled, Teller accepts “0” as a valid entity identifier when entered by the caller. When disabled, “0” is rejected as an invalid entity ID.
Caller Impact: Caller may or may not be able to select or enter an entity with an ID value of zero, depending on configuration.
Default Value: Disabled
